Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
Information entered in a search box, such as a name or birth date, is transmitted directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its response. We do not retain or record those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you email us, the message is retained as needed to answer it. Contact messages remain within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
Loading a page may cause our servers to receive standard technical details about the visit:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files used to understand aggregate traffic, popular pages, and where visits end. Analytics providers help compile that information. Browser controls can block cookies, although disabling them may change how some features behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
- Sending your search requests to the right partner service
- Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
- Tracking down and fixing technical issues
- Showing ads that may line up with your interests
No Warrant Data on File
We do not host, maintain, assemble, or sell a database of warrants or personal warrant information. Montrose County guidance routes court-status questions to the Clerk of Court, Montrose Combined Court, or the issuing municipal court. MCSO Records is a document-request channel, not a warrant lookup, and Colorado has no single public statewide warrant portal. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not compiled into consumer reports or third-party dossiers.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their own privacy policies, retention rules, and disclosure practices govern information submitted to them, and we do not control those choices. Review the applicable provider policy before entering a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Colorado courts, Montrose County offices, MCSO resources, legal-aid organizations, or outside search tools. Once you leave this website, the destination's privacy terms apply. Review them before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may use activity across websites to select ads. That processing occurs through their systems rather than ours.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal information is not sold. It may be available to these limited recipients:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for information under our control. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, however, so we cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such data, we will remove it promptly.
Your Data Rights
Rights may vary with the privacy and consumer-protection laws that apply where you live. Colorado's CORA, CJRA, and CJD 05-01 govern access to government, criminal-justice, and Judicial Branch records; they do not convert this private site into a public records custodian. At a minimum, you may:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
Updates to This Policy
